I feel like i'm negatively sterotyped often. and I kind of hate it. one time a professor told me (after getting an A in his class after all semester) "when i first met you I was just like 'she's probably just a cute dumb blonde BUT you really proved me wrong". and he wasn't particularly stereotypical or anything.

I miss you
Dear You:
I miss you. I miss you so much that it really does hurt and when I think about how much I miss you it hurts even more. There are the mornings I wish more than anything that I could pick up the phone and call you. There are the nights where I write the letters I wish I could send. There are the afternoons where I think of all the things that I'll tell you someday. I think of all the songs that remind me of you and I wish you knew them too. I wish we could dance to them again. There's that one 80's song that we used to play and dance around in your living room. I miss that. One time we made pasta and we had a silly joke about the pronounciation of collander. Let's make pasta again. I used to complain that when we came over that you and my dad painted too much. I'd spend the rest of my life scrubbing paint palattes if it meant I could be with you. Once upon a time, on a really sunny but cool day, we rode bikes down to the pier and along that one path. And we sat and stared at the ocean and it was so dreamlike. And I think it might have been a dream. And that exact spot where we were is shown 24/7 on the screens in Hollister. And so I go in Hollister and I don't buy a thing, but I remember a wonderful dream that I once had. 'Cause it was a dream, I think. And than one day the dream turned into a nightmare and than the nightmare turned into a coma-like state.
But now, maybe now, you could make it a dream again? 'Cause I'm sleepy and I'm tired of being awake. I want to go back to that dream. For forever and always. And if that dream came back, I might belive in forever and always again.

Its hard for me to beleive that tomorrow at 3:00 my entire perspective on life will probably be changed because every crazy thing I have to do thisweek will finally be finished. ABOUT TIME. Well, I guess the reason its hard to believe is because its not true. I need to do some fun stuff this weekend, though, because next Saturday I'll be at Model UN all day. (Yay!) If I actually had money it would work out better.
Next on the agenda, I'm getting fat. After spending a lot of time printing out pictures of the last year of my life I have come to the conclusion that I have gained weight. Clearly, this is stressful. So of course, to deal with my stress, I have my white chocolate mochas. Which is the most calorie filled drink available at Starbucks. Boo for me. Someone called me a mini-giraffe this morning; which I found endearing. But pretty soon I'll probably be entitled the mini-hippo.
Aww...I'm reading my BFF's blog and she wrote that I'm intelligent and will someday be prestigous. Its so nice to have 1 person on this earth who thinks your smart. :D She calls me Natasha, though, in her posts. Which is wierd. Because reading my name in relation to me is even wierder than hearing my name.
Thirdly, I hate fashion week. Hmmhmm, that's right. I think its stupid. This is the reason I will never be a fashion editor/writer for any magazine. It is my personal opinion that the majority of runway is ridiculous. Its just designers trying to find the newest wierdest thing. I am all for being an individual. That's why I love street fashion. Style blogs. Weardrobe. Etc. Because that's creativity at its prime. It is 10,000 times more cool (to me) to walk into a thrift store and put something amazing together than to have Jean Paul Gaultier deck you out.
Of course, I do love Gaultier. And if he ever wants to deck me out, well, I wouldn't protest.
To top it all off, I am convinced that my hair doesn't grow. I just looked at picture Bethi probably took 9 months ago of me and my hair looked exactly the same. Hmmph.
Why don't guys carry purses? Okay, so maybe not purses like Juicy style. (I use Juicy as a negative example nearly every other post, don't I?) But like, leather man bag style. I guess they do in Europe. Nearly all of my male professors/teachers at school do. And I LOVE them. The bags, I mean. :D I really want a leather messenger bag.
I will never wear overalls. Just thought I'd throw that out there. No matter how popular they are. No matter if every person in America is wearing them. No matter if I live in Podunk, Iowa. I will never wear overalls. or shortalls, or any type of overall skirt/dress.
I want a brick wall. Perhaps Bethany and I will build one on the hill at CalArts for my posing pleasure. :-)

(I admit, I do kind of like him) and the other girls were like "You are like in love with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You look at him like you adore him!"

This girl at school decided to name me and one of my friends future children--the half of the name based off of me was "aryan princess buttercup". If you, like me, didn't know what "aryan" was....its like a German blue eyed blondie.
In jazz we're doing a combination to "So What" by P!nk. Its a hilarious song. And our dance is fun, kind of angry but pretty. Never mind I havn't actually danced to it yet- I've been sick and have spent my time observing other people have fun.

i envy the luxury of doing nothing
What are you wearing now? LBD from Target, black scarf stolen from daddy, black tights, black ankle boots, black pea coat, and turqoise beret.

Do you nap a lot? I wish. I don't sleep much atall.

What’s your current obsession/addiction? Fashion, clothes, rocker guys (one walked by while I was syaing this so...) sleep, eclectic music, love, food.
Which item from your closet are you wearing most lately? Anything warm!! I dunno- I suppose my black tights. I've been wearing a lot of skirts/dresses lately.
What's for dinner? I don't even know. Pasta or some soup. I need to relax and eat.
What was the last thing you bought? A sweet Urban Outfitters shirt from an awesome stand at school.
What are you listening to right now? The beautiful silence of the library.
If you could have any super power, what would it be? I would say to read people's minds; but honestly I don't want to know. So, the ability to fly far away.

If you could have a house–totally paid for, fully furnished–anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? I want a flat/loft in the city for normal use; but I totally want one of those giant country estates in the middle of no where- with green grass and other lovely stuff.

What is your favorite item of clothing? Oh wow. Not for its appearance, but, my burgundy furry Aeropostale sweatshirt. Very teeny-bopperish; but so warm, so cozy, and such a security blankie.
Favorite pair of shoes you keep going back to over and over, even though your closet is overflowing with a zillion others: Oh gosh. Probably my Uggs.
Name one thing you cannot live without: The previously mentioned BFF. I love her more than anything in the entire world and if she were to die I would die. Maybe not physically, but I would be a completely different person. I love you Bethi!!!!! Of course, if a certain gentleman were to come along, he might help with the restoration process. :D

I'm trying to be productive and work on a certain application for a certain summer journalism program at a certain school. An application that is due tomorrow at 11:59 PM. I have to do three essays; two of 150 words and one of about 400.
Essay 1: In about 150 words, tell us about a newspaper or magazine article you’ve read recently that impacted you deeply, and why it had an effect on you.
I think I finally found something.
If only I would start writing.
I got the most adorable little journal at F21 for $1.99. Its red and has a sweet retro girl on it and I'm filling it with quotes and stuff. And I took an old moleskin and am filling it with papers and stickers and other scrapbookish stuff. They've both moved into my bag with me.
I was reading on Post Secret and someone drew this cartoon and wrote "I would love to drop an anvil on your girlfriend." Omygosh, that's amazing.
Still not writing. Being inspired by life. "Love is real, real is love." I kind of love John Lennon.
Once upon a time, someone asked me to name the top 10 bands/artists I couldn't live without. How about just right now.
So, my favorite 10 bands/artists right now, are:
1. Coldplay. I love them.

i know i've got issues but your pretty messed up too
I want a cat and I want to name him Finnegan. Never mind that I hate cats.
I feel bad calling things ugly. But some things just are. But its like, when do you cross the line between a person's unique style and just- eww? For instance, I hate the color mustard. It can be done well, however. However, I just saw someone wearing a mustard skirt with green and navy plaid tights. The word barf came to mind.

I miss taking the bus. I could take the bus to/from school but its literally a 4 minute ride. I love like 45 minutes (or more) bus rides. here's to everything, coming down to nothing
For the record, life is not about being "comfortable". Particularly in America, where comfort= ugly. Comfort is for after dinner lounging or Saturday mornings. Comfort is not all day everyday.
Jeans are not uncomfortable. What's uncomfortable is the awkwardness that seeing every inch of your body fat exposed in leggings brings. Jeans are a staple of life for a reason- they are comfortable without being appaling. No, I'm not suggesting we sleep in jeans. But people who wear Juicy Couture sweatsuits all day every day- really. One, you clearly make a choice to wake up in the morning and put that on. You could have very easily put on jeans and a white v-neck. I know, you would not look like "I paid 450 dollars for my outfit." (Tracksuit + Uggs= ~450) Instead you would look like "I favor simplicity over expensive pajamas. As such, I am intelligent."

Currently I love:
- dresses + skirts. Quick story about that: On Sunday night Bethany and I are hanging out in my room eating brownies and I go "I really want to wear more skirts and dresses" and she gives me this look and goes "I never thought I would hear THAT again". See, a year or two ago I had the misfortune of becoming easily influenced (to make a very long story short) and wore floor length skirts. Not fashionable, fun, flirty floor length skirts. Think Khaki. Think Denim. Think I should be punished for that phase.
Anyhow, this weeks Weardrobe theme is skirts. I'm going to enter.
- boots. To go along with my love of dresses and skirts in this 40 degree weather I have come to love boots. I picked up some sweet boots at Buffalo Exchange a few weeks ago and I'm dying to wear them. Unfortunatly, they need to be resoled first. :-(
- brunettes. And I hate my hair lately, for the record. the stylist that last caught my bangs should be fired. Good at doing brows, bad at doing bangs. and my blonde hair is geting less blonde. and more striped. Bleh.
- the look of many bracelets. Another funny one for me. I don't wear bracelets, watches, etc. For one thing, my wrists are very tiny (I have skinny arms, even in proportion to my body). I'm thinking of making some friendship bracelets (I'm sure they have a chicer name them "friendship bracelets").
- Paris. But I always love Paris. I'm trying to figure out how to work a french class into my future schedules. because my life dream is to study over there while in college.

Jeans are not uncomfortable. What's uncomfortable is the awkwardness that seeing every inch of your body fat exposed in leggings brings. Jeans are a staple of life for a reason- they are comfortable without being appaling. No, I'm not suggesting we sleep in jeans. But people who wear Juicy Couture sweatsuits all day every day- really. One, you clearly make a choice to wake up in the morning and put that on. You could have very easily put on jeans and a white v-neck. I know, you would not look like "I paid 450 dollars for my outfit." (Tracksuit + Uggs= ~450) Instead you would look like "I favor simplicity over expensive pajamas. As such, I am intelligent."

We'll be out of here as soon as we can.....
Today is Hate People Day. I hate people. I really do. I wonder where my positive happy-go-lucky self went. But I don't need to wonder anymore. Its called I woke up to what people are really like. The bits of drama I had in life before school/before family were fun. Not like cry yourself to sleep cause people are so mean. In 8th grade their were some cry yourself to sleep moments. Okay, a lot. But it really just get's worse.
I hate brands. I hate money. I hate people who think they're better than other people because of what they have yet they are the creme de la creme of the supidity crop. I just don't want to do it anymore. I don't want to play the game; I don't want to be friends with backstabbing superficial shallow idiotic morons who would go into shock if they knew what life is for regular people. Yes, regular people. No, regular is not having a gardner/maid/housekeeper/butley. Regular is not wandering into Juicy Couture and buying everything in site. Regular is not texting every minute of everyday meaningless things like "LOL...ur soooo funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OMG!" Regular is not parents who throw stuff at you to avoid spending time with you. Regular is NOT hating your siblings.
I have decided to crawl back into my shell. I just want to dress in vintage clothes, forget about meaningless things, and enjoy the pure and simple things of life. I want to make friends with people who actually fit what a FRIEND is.
I just want to be a hippie. I just want to be left alone. Maybe I'll move to Walden Pond.

thank you jimmy
Its raining super super super hard. I'm in the library at COC and all I can see for miles out the window is fog. You can hear the rain on the roof. Its AMAZING. I'm tempted to go do something stupid or just dance around and get soaking wet. But I'm listening to Rihanna and reading fashion blogs....so....
Rain makes me more creative.
Tomorrow is pajama day at school. I've gone back in forth between whether I'll actually participate or not. Part of me is like "ummm...stupid..." another part is like "well...be a little creative" I wouldn't actually wear my everyday pajamas- Charlotte Russe christmasy bottoms and a bra, lol. I've come up with an outfit that involves a blue and white shirt of my dads. and i'll probably go with that. especially since I just saw pics of the most adorable french girl wearing something similar.
but I feel like wearing a dress.
I'm reading chictopia and every single person on there, I swear, owns a black leather jacket. and a plaid shirt.
things I wish I could wear but would probably never be able to work:
-a plaid shirt. i feel i'd look too daisy dukeish.
-leather jaket. too punk
- fake/real fur jacket. i have one I bought at a garage sale for ~5 bucks when I was 11. I have never once worn it. and it looks sooooo warm. but i'm kind of afraid of being stoned by PETA people. especially since i'm kind of a PETA person myself.
- super high heels. MK+A Olsen style. when I find my Amazon/Gladiator signifcant other who's like 6"5 than maybe. until than, I don't feel the need to look more like a giraffe. however, even if I were 4"11 and 90 pounds i doubt my mom would let me wear them anyhow.
- american apparel. I don't get that store. like, i see people wearing stuff from there and i'm like "ohhh!" and than i go to the store/website and am like "huh?' I would like some basic tees from there, though.
- a class ring. while i don't personally want one, i want someone in my family to pass there's down. my grandpa has one that he wears as a wedding ring.
this guy at school today told me "you look so much better than last semester, what happened??" he was joking, at least partially. i was like "yeah..I look so much better this semester when i roll out of bed, put on something cuteish, and than top it with a burgundy sweatshirt that I seem to insist on wearing everyday." that thing is like a comfort blanket or something to me. I got in an argument with a friend-person the other day and went home immeadietly for the sweatshirt. i've never washed that thing. (am I in a confessing mood today??)
does everything look better with a large designer bag and a Venti Starbucks?
i need to go thrifting.

Its been stuck on my mind the entire day.
I've thought I was in love quite a few times.
and everytime I was wrong.
but baby, maybe now its different.
cause now its you and me
I wrote that when I was in eighth grade. When I had no idea what love was let alone any common sense. I had no idea how much someone could hurt another person. Well, I had an idea. But it sort of hit me in the face that year.
And than there was somone else. there's been someone else for the last two years. I always say that phrase as if we still have something. but I think I've finally gotten to the place where I can full heartedly say that there is nothing left. There's no hurt feelings, but no happy ones either. they've sort of cancelled each other out. if only every good and bad feeling of the last year could cancel each other out.
I can count the number of people I really truly love on one hand. Maybe less than one hand.
And so, now, I'm on urban dictionary reading Love entries. they're pretty much adorable. And listening to Coldplay and feeling soooo reflective. After all, its February. which happens to be my favorite month. I love Valentines Day. Its my favorite holiday. Yeah, its a bit depressing to hear every person who's actually in a relationships plans...but i know i'm not going to be alone forever.

New Blog...
I haven't had a blog in exactly a year. Well, I've had a blog, but I haven't posted in a year. Big difference, seriously.
I saw a Youtube video today. It was Everything by Mark Shultz. It made me cry and think.
I had some trouble coming up with a blog name. Finaly I just decided to take two of my favorite things which aren't 1. things that were really created for 5 year olds (ie. Disney Princesses) and 2. had nothing to do with a nickname, a name that's not actually mine though I wish it was, and a name that wasn't taken. So...Autumn Skies and Oak Trees. I have an obsession with trees lately. It started about twoish weeks ago when it was raining and I was depressed. I just wanted more than anything to get away and feel like everything in the world wasn't going to swallow me alive. And so I climbed a tree. In the pouring rain (pouring for so cal, anyhow). And than I realized what I've been missing in the six years since I last climbed a tree. And than I started climbing trees with people and wow. The best conversations happen in trees. Plus you kind of feel like a bird. And autumn skies...well...I love the sky.
I've had a lot of drama in the last few weeks and the only thing that I can really say is: I stink at communicating. Out loud. On paper, I'm okay. Writing is my forte. But anyhow, I stink at saying what I actually mean. I stink at saying anything close to my true feelings to anyone in the world except one person who I've known for five years. And I came to the realization that if I can't actually say what I feel that's gonna cause a crapload of problems in any relationship. Yesterday I asked one of my teachers if he'd never been so angry that he'd screamed and yelled. And he said something like 'Doesn't everyone?'
I can't remember the last time that when I was incredibly frustrated I actually did something about it.
I saw a Youtube video today. It was Everything by Mark Shultz. It made me cry and think.
I had some trouble coming up with a blog name. Finaly I just decided to take two of my favorite things which aren't 1. things that were really created for 5 year olds (ie. Disney Princesses) and 2. had nothing to do with a nickname, a name that's not actually mine though I wish it was, and a name that wasn't taken. So...Autumn Skies and Oak Trees. I have an obsession with trees lately. It started about twoish weeks ago when it was raining and I was depressed. I just wanted more than anything to get away and feel like everything in the world wasn't going to swallow me alive. And so I climbed a tree. In the pouring rain (pouring for so cal, anyhow). And than I realized what I've been missing in the six years since I last climbed a tree. And than I started climbing trees with people and wow. The best conversations happen in trees. Plus you kind of feel like a bird. And autumn skies...well...I love the sky.
I've had a lot of drama in the last few weeks and the only thing that I can really say is: I stink at communicating. Out loud. On paper, I'm okay. Writing is my forte.
